THE HISTORY OF THE ROSE

The History of the Rose
The Rose has the same symbolic meaning as the Lotus does in the East: love, particularly love that is pure. The Ancient Greeks believed the rose was originally white in color. It turned to red when the goddess of love, Aphrodite, pricked herself with one of its thorns and bled on the blossoms. The actual plant was first grown in ancient Persia. At this time, it was looked upon as a masculine flower. Over the next several thousand years, the rose was cultivated into many different varieties. As a result, it is now more closely linked to femininity and beauty. Nonetheless, variations of the rose tattoo are found on nearly as many men as women. In fact, the rose tattoo was once a popular choice amongst sailors in the 40s, who got one of these tattoos as a way of honoring their wife or girlfriend they left behind at home. At the same time, it was viewed as a suitable tattoo choice for women.
The Rose Tattoo and Beauty
The most common meaning behind the rose tattoo is the representation of beauty. Many rose tattoo lovers believe the rose represents both inner and outer beauty. When thorns are present on the image, it means the person does not place a great deal of emphasis on outer beauty. For others, the rose image refers to everlasting beauty, with the thorn meaning you can look but you can't touch.
The Rose Tattoo and Love
The rose tattoo is also closely linked to love. It can be a symbol of being in love when the rose is without thorns. Or, the thorned rose can be a reminder that love should be entered into with caution because you may be "pricked" by the thorns. The thorned rose tattoo serves as a reminder that love does not come without certain sacrifices. As such, caution should be used when falling in love. The thorned rose tattoo means love is not without its risks and that ecstasy will not come without enduring a certain amount of agony.
The Meaning Behind the color
The rose fascinated the Victorians and, as a result, they assigned different emotional qualities and meanings to different color variations. These colors are generally taken under consideration when choosing a rose tattoo design.
• Red – True love (particularly when presented as a single rose), passion, and saying "I love you," romantic love, and respect.
• Pink – Grace, elegance, gentleness.
• Coral – desire.
• Orange – Enthusiasm, excitement, and fascination.
• Light Peach – modesty and friendship.
• Yellow – Jealousy (historically). Familiar love, friendship, gladness, joy, and devotion (modern times).
• White – Purity, innocence, spiritual love, youth, and secrecy.
• Blue – Fascination, fantasy, impossibility (largely because the blue rose does not really exist – all "blue" roses are really lavender or white roses that have been dyed).
• Purple – Enchantment and love at first sight.
• Black – Death and darkness (black roses in nature are really deep purple).
• Red and White Combined – Mercy, unity, and justice.
• Red and Yellow Combined – Congratulations
• Yellow and Orange Combined – Passionate thoughts.

The color you choose may have a much to do with the reason for getting the rose tattoo. Of course, tattoo lovers are free to select any color they desire, no matter its purpose.

2007 REVIEW

The time has come, at the end of that year, where everyone should make his review. So i m making mine.
2007 was a very important year for me. Even if it started badly, ended much much better. First of all i had to overcome so many things (one of which was my ex. I forgot about her more easily than she did, in a great surprise of me) that made me feel so miserable. As months went by, i found out that almost all people always feel miserable, most of them without a serious reason. Well, i m healthy, i have a great job, a home, a car, a bike, mom, dad, brother, so i don't see why i should feel miserable. I met people that don't have even the half of what i do, but they are so happy that i 'm jealous of them. So i tried to change my point of view and succeeded.
2007 i started bike racing. I always hated racing because of the competition (i m not a competitive guy at all) but a lot of friends persuaded me to go to open bike races, where competition almost does not exist. I love riding my bike so what the hell. I did it. And it was great. A great experience with a lot of fun. I had friends and i ve made many others. I ve learned things and improved myself. I liked bike racing so much and right now, i m waiting for the next season.
Last year i went for vacation to Lefkada. A Greek island famous for the surfers. It was that time when the idea came to me. I wanted to learn windsurfing. A hole year past until i took the decision to buy a surf and start learning this sport. I m still new at it but i can handle my board extremely well.
This year i also learned what trust, friendship and loyalty means. Many people betrayed me, so i didn t know who to trust. But also i found friendship in places and faces i didn t expect.
Finally at the end of 2007, after 14 years, i managed to quit smoking. Even if its still early i can say that i m a winner.
At 2006 i made a present to myself. A hole new and expensive bike. A Scott Genius MC 30. At 2007 i made another present to myself. Another expensive bike. This time it was a Scott Ransom 40.
2008 will bring no presents to me, from me. 2008 is the year that i ll make presents to others. None familiar. Unknown children that starving or dying of diseases in countries that we, the civilized ones, does not want to know their existence.
I expect from all of you to do the same. If we could save only one little child....
Imagine.....
For this year i will make the same wish as the last one. I don't want more i don't want less. I wish, not to loose what God gave to me so generously.

I wish the same for all of you. Even if you were good or bad to me....

HAVE A FUCKING HAPPY GREAT YEAR

OPENING SKI SEASON PROBLEMS

SO HERE WE ARE.SNOWFALLS MAY HAVE STOPPED FOR NOW, BUT SNOW IS ENOUGH FOR SKIING. NEVERTHELESS THE FIRST SKIING ATTEMPTS FOR THE SEASON, WERE CROWNED WITH FAILURE.
FIRST DAY WAS WEDNESDAY 19. I FORGOT MY GLOVES AND MY HANDS WERE FREEZING. MY BROTHER FORGOT HIS SALOPETA (SKI TROUSER) AND ALSO HIS JACKET. A UNIFORM UNDER WATERPROOF TROUSER, WAS THE EMERGENCY SOLUTION. AS FOR MY FINGERS, STILL HURTS AFTER CRASHING ON COLD SNOW.
SECOND DAY WAS SATURDAY 22. MY BROTHER (AGAIN) AFTER TWO YEARS OF SUFFERING FROM HIS BOOTS HE TOOK THE ULTIMATE DECISION. HE MADE A SKI BOOTS TUNING ON THE SNOW. USING MY SWISS KNIFE HE OPENED A HOLE ON THE INNER BOOT AND FINALLY FOUND HIS PEACE OF MIND. WATCH THIS SPECIAL VIDEO LOL.
BY THE WAY, WEATHER WAS FANTASTIC SO WE HAD A GREAT DAY AND EVEN GREATER FUN. HOPE NEXT TIME TO BE LUCKIER SO TO ENJOY MORE THE GREAT WHITE.
